What is your favorite spot on the University of Tennessee campus?

  • My favorite spot on campus would have to be the Art and Architecture building. Although I have never had a class in there I have frequented Einstein Bagels many times. It’s a really pretty building inside and out.

What do you think is the best part of Sorority Recruitment at UT?

  • I would say the best part is getting to know everyone. I didn’t knot a lot of people coming to UT so getting to know people not only in my Gamma Chi group but also ladies that were in the suites was the best part.

What piece of advice would you give to a potential new member (PNM)?

  • My advice would be to just be yourself, don’t go in with preconceived notions, and RELAX! The ladies inside the suites are just as nervous, if not more, than you.

Why did you go through Sorority Recruitment?

  • I went to an all girls’ high school and wanted to recreate the small close-knit group of friends in such a big community. It’s easy to get lost in a sea of 30,000 people and being a part of a sorority makes it smaller and more comfortable.

What is your best sorority moment?

  • Lipsync. It’s the dance competition all the freshman pledge classes put on. It’s a really good time to bond with the ladies in your pledge class and that is when you really get to know everyone a lot better. It’s hard work but it’s a lot of fun!

How has your sorority helped you academically?

  • It has helped tremendously. I know that if I don’t make the grade I’ll have to do study hours and certain privileges are taken away from me. Also, being involved has been proven to show that a person does well in academia. Because I stay involved it keeps my brain working as opposed to just sitting around lazily.
