What is your favorite spot on the University of Tennessee campus?
- The library. I spend a lot of time studying at the library, so I guess it is my favorite spot! Sometimes I go just to get Starbucks and socialize too!
What do you think is the best part of Sorority Recruitment at UT?
- Bid Day! I love Bid Day because all of the PNMs and all of the Panhellenic women are so excited! Both sides find out who is going where, and all the stress of the process is over! It is time to have fun with your new sorority!
What piece of advice would you give to a potential new member (PNM)?
- Be yourself! That is the most important thing to remember, because you want to join a sorority that fits who you really are, not who you pretend to be.
Why did you go through Sorority Recruitment?
- As a sophomore transfer student, I wanted to find a way to get involved on campus quickly, and make lots of girl friends. Being in a sorority is one of the easiest ways to get involved on campus because it serves as a door to so many other campus groups and programs.
What is your best sorority moment?
- I love initiation, because it is what every sorority is all about. Without ritual, a sorority means nothing. It is what connects us to our founders, and I love the ceremony of inducting new ladies into a sisterhood that means so much to me.
How has your sorority helped you academically?
- Being in a sorority gives you motivation for keeping up your GPA because sorority GPA requirements are higher than those of the university. Also, scholarship chairs of the chapters give rewards and incentives for good grades, and so does Panhellenic!
