What is your favorite spot on the University of Tennessee campus?

  • Even though it can be a workout to get up there, I love the Hill on UT's campus, especially in the spring. It is the oldest part of campus and remains one of the most beautiful with its old architecture, large blooming trees, and grassy areas.

What do you think is the best part of Sorority Recruitment at UT?

  • The best part is all the excitement of Bid Day. Everyone, both inside and outside of Panhellenic, is excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. It is so fun to tear open your letter and run up to the chapter you finally get to be a part of!

What piece of advice would you give to a potential new member (PNM)?

  • My advice is to always be yourself. These sororities want to get to know YOU, and you should never feel like you have to change yourself for anyone. Also, have fun with recruitment! You’re going to meet so many new people and experience so much before school even starts.

Why did you go through Sorority Recruitment?

  • When I came to college, it was my first time being on my own. I went through recruitment because I saw sorority life as a way to get involved with UT, to find a “home away from home”, and to help make UT a little smaller. It has done all of that and so much more!

What is your best sorority moment?

  • My favorite moment so far was this fall when we had Big Sis Revealing. All of the new ladies came to Massey/Greve, dressed up in the crazy outfits we made for them, and ran upstairs to meet us and get all of their gifts. Everyone was so excited, and it was really fun surprising them!

How has your sorority helped you academically?

  • With everything that goes on at college, it’s easy to forget the real reason you are here. However, my sorority has helped me balance both work and play. If we don’t keep our grades up and maintain a certain GPA, then we cannot participate in any ACE events, such as Carnicus, or sorority events, like mixers and formals – pretty good motivation to visit the library once in a while!
