What is your favorite spot on the University of Tennessee campus?
- My favorite spot on campus is the yard in front of Ayers Hall on warm days. It is a really nice place to go and read or study!
What do you think is the best part of Sorority Recruitment at UT?
- Recruitment can be a very hectic week, but there are also a lot of really great aspects to it. It is your first week at college and you have the chance to meet so many new people, but my favorite part is knowing that at the end of the week, you are going to become a part of a sorority that will help you grow throughout all of college and where you are going to make friends that will last you for the rest of your life.
What piece of advice would you give to a potential new member (PNM)?
- My best advice is to keep an open mind all week because any sorority can be completely different from what you might think. There are wonderful women in each one, and at the end of the week you will end up where you belong.
Why did you go through Sorority Recruitment?
- Honestly, I’m not exactly sure. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but right before I came to school my mom finally convinced me that I should at least try it to have a way to get to know people during the first week. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I couldn’t imagine my college years without my sorority!
What is your best sorority moment?
- I studied abroad during the spring of my sophomore year, and when I was coming home I was really nervous about readjusting and seeing all of my friends after being gone for six months. After two long days of traveling I finally landed in the Nashville airport, and standing with my family when I came down to baggage claim were my sorority sisters, all holding welcome home cards and signs! It made me realize how much I had missed them and how much they meant to me!
How has your sorority helped you academically?
- In any sorority you must keep a good GPA in order to participate in events. I put a lot into my sorority and because of that, I get a lot out of it. It would be really disappointing to miss out on a lot of great things just because I couldn’t make grades. And it’s always easy to find someone to study with!
