What is your favorite spot on the University of Tennessee campus?
- My favorite spot on campus is TRECS. In the spring and summer, a lot of people will take their books to the pool and study while they lay out. I also love working out, and since there is a Smoothie King inside, you can workout, grab a smoothie, study, and get a tan all in one place!
What do you think is the best part of Sorority Recruitment at UT?
- The best part of recruitment was meeting new people. I met so many people, not only from talking to chapter members but in my Gamma Chi group as well. I actually made really good friends with the ladies in my Gamma Chi group and we still hang out to this day.
What piece of advice would you give to a potential new member (PNM)?
- Don’t be nervous! I learned from being on the other side of recruitment that chapter members are just as nervous about making a good impression on you as you are on them. Just be yourself and people will love you for who you are!
Why did you go through Sorority Recruitment?
- I went through recruitment because I wanted to meet new people. Since I grew up here in Knoxville, a lot of the people that I had gone to school with my entire life were coming to UT. Not that I didn’t love my friends, but I just wanted to meet new people from different places, and sorority recruitment seemed like the best way to do that. Now, not only am I still friends with the people I grew up with, but I have also made a ton of new friends that are from all over!
What is your best sorority moment?
- Some of my best sorority moments have been living in sorority dorms. Living together with 50 or more of my best friends has an amazing experience. Our best memories come from simply hanging out and acting goofy in each other’s rooms!
How has your sorority helped you academically?
- My sorority has been a huge asset to my GPA. We like to have study parties when a lot of people have a huge test coming up or if a lot of people are taking the same test. This makes studying so much more enjoyable when you know that you have people there to help you when you need it or to encourage you when you get tired.
