Zeta Tau Alpha was founded at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Zeta Tau Alpha is the third oldest chapter at UT and the third largest sorority in the nation. Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is the Susan G. Komen foundation and breast cancer research and awareness. Last year, ZTA won Best Philanthropy in Panhellenic. At UT, members of ZTA are involved in a variety of campus organizations, such as SGA, All Campus Events, Student’s Alumni Associates, Honors Program, College Scholars Program, TeamVOLS, Panhellenic Council Officers, Emerging Leaders, and many others. Also, ZTA participates in all of the ACE events, including Homecoming, Vol Challenge, All Sing, and Carnicus. One of the most important aspects of ZTA is the bond shared by all of the Zeta women, and members of ZTA participate in monthly sisterhood events and activities to promote that bond. Some famous Zetas include Susan Ford, Bales, daughter of President Gerald R. Ford, Phyllis George Brown, former Miss America, Lynda Johnson Robb, daughter of former President Lyndon B. Johnson, Keri Evans from MTV’s Chicago Real World, Kirsten Bushbacher from ABC’s The Bachelor, Nicole Paggi from Hope and Faith TV series.
