Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity is one of the oldest women’s fraternities with a total membership of over 200,000 women and 131 collegiate chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Here, at the University Of Tennessee, Kappa Kappa Gamma has almost 150 members and prides itself on our Tradition of Leadership. Our Chapter strives in every aspect to stand for our National Mission Statement -- “Kappa Kappa Gamma is an organization of women, which seeks for every member throughout her life bonds of friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self-growth, respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of and an allegiance to positive ethical principles.” Kappa Kappa Gamma stresses the importance of dedication towards one another, academics, campus events/activities, and community service.
Our chapter at the University of Tennessee represents a group of girls who are unique in their own ways creating a diverse environment. The ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma not only hold leadership positions within the chapter, but also many girls are seen in other campus organizations, such as Mortar Board, Morale, Dance Marathon Exec and Morale, Orange Pride Ambassadors, RA’s, and so much more! Kappa Kappa Gamma as a whole is involved with many on-campus organizations, as well! This year, Kappa Kappa Gamma has participated in All-Sing with Phi Mu, Homecoming, Dance Marathon, and many other philanthropy events for other chapters.
Our dedication to our philanthropy is a fundamental aspect of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Our Philanthropy is the March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization devoted to help prevent birth defects and infant mortality. To raise money for the organization, Kappa holds its annual Kappalympics in the Spring, participates in Walk-America, and assists with the Annual Chef’s Auction. A new addition to our community service has been through a new program called Princess For A Day; this is where we throw a princess party for the young girls at Children’s Hospital. Community service, academics, leadership, Formals and Date Parties….Kappa Kappa Gamma knows how to paint the town BLUE!!!
