Delta Gamma is one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities. We were founded in 1873, and since the very beginning we have believed in the high ideals of friendship, social responsibility and character, as well as a commitment to educational and cultural interests. The Delta Gamma chapter at UT still holds tight to these ideals put forth by our three founders.

Delta Gamma’s motto is “do good,” and the women of the Gamma Alpha chapter are always finding creative ways to do just that. We work with the Delta Gamma Foundation to raise money through our annual philanthropy, Anchor Splash. A fun day of pool games and activities, Anchor Splash raises thousands of dollars annually for Service for Sight, working to preserve against and educate about our nation’s vision problems. Here at UT, Anchor Splash supports a Vision Camp for Knoxville area children who have visual disabilities. We are proud to say that our Gamma Alpha chapter funds this camp independently!

Here at UT, Delta Gammas are very involved in a vast array of activities. For two years in a row, our chapter has received the Junior Panhellenic Involvement Banner, and this year Delta Gamma placed in All Sing, Vol Challenge, and even had a finalist for Miss Homecoming 2007! We are very competitive and participate in all the fraternities’ philanthropy events, placing first in Lambda Chi Watermelon Bust and ATO Pumpkin Carving! In addition, Delta Gammas are involved in organizations all over campus . You’ll find a Delta Gamma in everything from Mortar Board to Dance Marathon President, Exec, and morale, to Ambassador Scholars, to staff writers for UT’s newspaper, The Daily Beacon!
